Chinggis Warriors, Fluxo, Imperial, and Metizport Face Elimination After 0-2 Start

by Gocsgo

After the first two rounds of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 group stage, four teams unfortunately lost and fell into the “0-2 elimination pool” – Chinggis Warriors (Mongolia), Fluxo (Brazil), Imperial (Brazil) and Metizport (Europe). According to the Swiss round-robin rules, this means that they are on the verge of elimination, and any subsequent losses will directly end their Major journey.

In such a high-intensity game, the team was already under great pressure after losing the first game, and two consecutive defeats further magnified the problems in tactics, psychology and coordination.

Chinggis Warriors: Inexperience is exposed

The Mongolian newcomer Chinggis Warriors had performed well in the Asian qualifiers and successfully qualified with team cohesion and individual explosiveness. However, when they arrived at the main venue of the Major, they seemed a little overwhelmed when facing high-level European and American teams.

In the games against Legacy and another European team, they frequently made mistakes in handling key situations, for example:

The endgame judgment was unclear, and the winning rate of 2v2 and 2v1 rounds was less than 30%;

The tactical arrangement was read through, and Dust2’s B point was successfully rushed three times;

The economic distribution on the defensive end was unreasonable, and the economic avalanche was caused by the strong start.

In terms of data, the main player Techno4K only scored a rating of 0.89 in the group stage, which was far lower than the 1.16 in the qualifying stage. The team’s opening win rate was only 41%, indicating that they often fell into a disadvantage in the first-shot confrontation.

Fluxo and Imperial

The two Brazilian teams, Fluxo and Imperial, originally placed great hopes on Brazilian fans in this Major. In particular, Imperial, as the team where the legendary player FalleN plays, has always been considered to have dark horse potential.

But the data shows:

Imperial’s team ADR (average damage caused) is 66.3, lower than the Major average (70.8);

Fluxo made frequent mistakes in executing the middle lane map control, and Inferno’s control rate in the middle lane was less than 38%, causing the team to be forced to play passive defense many times.

This exposed the problem that the two teams are poorly adaptable to the current version and there is a gap between the commander and the players’ understanding. In particular, Imperial relies on FalleN as the dual role of core commander and sniper, and it is a bit difficult to face the current faster-paced and more complex tactical game structure.

Metizport: Talent failed to turn into stable output

Metizport is a European mixed team with great potential, with young players from Sweden and Denmark. However, they were criticized for “relying only on burst and lacking tactics” in this competition.

Statistics show:

The first kill win rate is only 38%, indicating that they are at a disadvantage in the early confrontation;

The team cooperation score is lower than the Major average (0.71 vs 0.81);

The key game win rate is only 23%, and the psychological quality and execution cooperation are obviously insufficient.

Although the team has good individual abilities, it has not formed a systematic play style and lost points quickly on the stage of the competition.

Data comparison: The gap between the 0-2 team and the leading team

Metric0-2 Teams AvgQualified Teams Avg
Team Rating0.941.08
Entry Kill Success Rate42%57%
CT-Side Clutch Win Rate28%46%
Avg. Economy Per Round$4,120$4,670
Map Control Success Rate44%61%

These data clearly point out that the 0-2 team is lagging behind in many core dimensions, especially in the endgame and economic management.

Conclusion: Can the rookie counterattack? Will the veteran bid farewell?

For Chinggis Warriors, this Major is full of difficulties, but it is also a critical moment for experience accumulation. They still have a theoretical chance to advance. As long as they can quickly adjust their mentality and tactics, they can still perform the miracle of “1-2-2 counterattack”.

For Fluxo and Imperial, perhaps it is more important to reflect on the bottleneck problem of the Brazilian CS system in the current version. It is time to make a more thorough tactical innovation and the replacement of the old with the new.

Although Metizport has not performed well for the time being, as a young European team, as long as they keep their mentality and sort out the cooperation route, they still have strong development potential in the future.

The 0-2 elimination pool of BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is not only a turning point in the game, but also a concentrated reflection of the differences in resources, experience, and structure between teams. For the audience, the next round will be a psychological and tactical game of who can survive; for the team, this is the final judgment of “staying in the team or going home”.
