The first day of the competition sparked a wave of hot topics, with the match between OG and Complexity being the most intensely discussed focus.

OG was in hot form, Complexity had a nightmare start

The OG team gave their opponents almost no chance in this game. On the map Ancient, they maintained an overwhelming advantage on both offense and defense, easily winning with a score of 13-3. The game lasted only 25 minutes, making it one of the fastest games of the day.

Complexity, on the other hand, seemed to be disorganized, with chaotic teamwork and inaccurate individual performance. Especially on the CT side, there were consecutive rounds of forward pressure errors and poor endgame handling, which led to a rapid gap in the score.

It is worth noting that Complexity was forced to replace its sniper before the game, with Junior replacing Hallzerk, who was absent due to visa issues. This temporary adjustment obviously had a huge impact on the team. Junior only got 5 kills in the whole game, with an ADR of less than 45, and was countered by nicoodoz many times in the offensive round.

nicoodoz refreshed personal best

OG sniper nicoodoz became the absolute protagonist of this game. He played 33-6 in the whole game, with a K/D of 5.5, ADR of 174.9, and a final personal rating of 3.08. This is his best single-game performance in all HLTV registered events.

Even more surprising is that he got 21 kills in the first half (T side), only 2 deaths, and almost controlled the entire map by himself. According to the event data, nicoodoz led the whole game with an 87% first kill success rate in this map, and completed 4 end-game kills.

This 3.08 rating is not only a personal high, but also ranks among the top in Major history, enough to be compared with s1mple and ZywOo’s peak performances in the past.

The first day of the Major

Many games ended with big scores, and upsets occurred frequently. In addition, Complexity’s tactical execution also seemed messy, and the control points in the early and mid-term were defeated by OG’s single-player counter-grab many times.

OG showed extremely high tactical discipline and tacit understanding of positions. Coach NeiL_M revealed in a post-match interview that the team focused on training Ancient’s breakthrough routines and mid-lane position switching settings before the game, and they really showed immediate results in the game.

Category

OG

Complexity

Final Score

13

3

MVP Player

nicoodoz

—

nicoodoz K/D

33 / 6

—

nicoodoz ADR

174.9

—

Team Average ADR

98.4

49.2

Entry Kill Success Rate

72%

18%

Conclusion

This game proves that OG is not only a peripheral cold team, but also has the strength to fight on the Major stage. nicoodoz’s performance has pushed him back to the ranks of first-line snipers. If he can maintain this level, OG is likely to become the biggest dark horse of this Major.

On the other hand, Complexity’s personnel changes and low state before the game made them lose the first game that should have been fiercely competitive. If the problems of tactical execution and player cooperation cannot be quickly resolved, it may be doubtful to qualify for the group stage.

As the subsequent events deepen, more strong dialOGues will be staged, and OG’s tactical system, nicoodoz’s state and Complexity’s adaptability will become important highlights in the future.

Please click Gocsgo and Gocsgo blog to continue to follow the event information and CS2 cases.

OG crushed Complexity 13-3 in their BLAST.tv Austin Major debut, powered by nicoodoz’s standout 3.08 rating.
